Totara Estate

This historic farm (originally 15,000 acres), was the birthplace of New Zealand’s billion-dollar frozen meat industry.

Constructed of local limestone the building include the stables, cookhouse, tack rooms, bunk house, and slaughter shed where the scene is set for the rigorous work on this estate.

The heritage sheep can be hand-fed and to have their backs scratched.

Afterwards relax and enjoy a cup of billy tea and scones in the cookhouse.
