Environment
We make every effort to reduce our footprint and are looking for ways to actively adopt and participate in initiatives that lead to better sustainability and minimise our impact on the environment.
Heating and cooling demands are greatly reduced by having solid concrete block walls, being well-insulated and double-glazed. Bulk purchasing ensures plastic packaging is kept to a minimum and we focus strongly on reducing single-use plastics. Our pillows are made from sterilised recycled plastic bottles so 3316 bottles have been saved from landfills while paper-based Forest & Bird Eco Stick amenities have been chosen as they not only breakdown in landfills in under 10 years but a percentage of every purchase goes directly to Forest & Bird to support their invaluable work in protecting animals and wild places.

Community
A commitment to engaging with and supporting the local community is essential to Mariner Suites
We support local businesses wherever possible with suppliers who embrace sustainable practices being actively sought as partners. When our towels and bathrobes are considered no longer suitable for guest use, but still in very good condition, they will be given away within the community. Mariner Suites contributes to fundraising efforts for local schools, organisations and charities and we loved working with our children’s school Enviro Group from who we purchased many of the grasses planted on our bank.
